Jacob Autry (b. 2006) is a percussionist, composer, and percussion technician from Florida's Space Coast. As a musician with ASD, he brings a unique perspective and creative voice to his work. Jacob is currently completing his Bachelor of Arts in Music with a minor in History at the University of Central Florida. At UCF, he studies under Thad Anderson and Kirk Gay, he has performed in several of the university's ensembles including Symphonic Band and ensembles within the Percussion Department.
Before attending UCF, Jacob performed in a wide range of ensembles such as the Wind Band of Brevard, Melbourne Municipal Band, Horizon Orchestra, and scholastic and independant indoor percussion groups.
In addition to his performance portfolio
Jacob also has experience teaching High-School Level percussion.
He has experience in changing/clearing timpani heads, repairing/designing mallet replacement frames and cases, as well as general drum tuning and mechanism repairs. He also has experience restoring vintage drums.
He is looking to expand his experience in helping others in need of a percussionist, composer, or technician.
He is also looking to expand into making handmade percussion accessories:
(triangle clips, mutes, accsessory stands, and custom box glockenspiel cases)
